Ziad Odeh, whose full name at birth was Ziad Odeh Abdul Qader Jammous ( December 19 , 1943 – May 6 , 2016 ) , was a Palestinian writer , author , and historian . He was born in the Palestinian city of Tulkarm . He is considered one of the most prominent writers who enriched Jordanian and Palestinian culture, and is known as the “Sheikh of Writers.” He was the head of the Jordanian Writers Association in Zarqa .

His biography

Ziad Awda Abdul Qader Jamous was born in the city of Tulkarm, Palestine on December 19 , 1943. He completed his secondary education at Al-Zarqa Secondary School in Jordan.
In 1971, he established and managed a cultural library in the city of Zarqa . The library was a destination for all pioneers of literature, writers, and intellectuals from all regions. Among its most prominent patrons were: Fakhri Qawar , Ahmad Al-Musleh , Talaat Shana’a , Elias Jreis , Muhammad Damra , Adnan Ali Khalid , Abdul Rahim Omar , Yousef Damra , Abdul Rahim Badr , Habes Hussein , Ashraf Abaza , Mazen Ajawi , Muhammad Al-Zawahra , and many others.

His death

Ziad Odeh died in the Jordanian city of Zarqa on May 6 , 2016 , at the age of 72 years and four and a half months, due to complications from diabetes .
