Born in ‘Assira Ash-Shamaliyeh in 1906; graduated from Teachers' College (Dar Al-Mu'allimin) in Jerusalem in 1927; worked as teacher in Nablus, Bethlehem and Safad; after the Nakba of 1948, opened an evening school; worked in the Education Ministry and in the Archaeology Dept. in Amman and then as a cultural consultant; represented Jordan in different conferences; elected in 1976 as the head of the Jordanian Writers Union; part-time lecturer of Archaeology at the University of Jordan; wrote 38 books on topics related to history, archaeology, education, literature and the Arab-Israeli conflict; died in 1978.
