Born in Megiddo, Ashqelon, in 1947; was displaced to Gaza in 1948; emigrated to Cairo after 1967, then moved to Amman, Beirut and finally settled in Damascus in 1971; worked as a journalist and broadcaster; received a Diploma from the Berlin Institute for Journalism in 1975; wrote extensively about the experience of Palestinians in the Diaspora; his collections include Sparrows of Roses (Poetry, Damascus, 1983).
