Fathi Ghaban is a Palestinian artist and sculptor from Gaza. He is a self-taught artist who has participated in numerous Palestinian, Arab, and international exhibitions. He has been practicing art professionally since 1965, creating sculptures from colored clay and drawing with charcoal or pencil. In addition, he trains students in traditional Palestinian folk dance (Dabke).
Often referred to as the "Van Gogh of Gaza," Ghaban has received the Hiroshima Medal and the Global Associations Union Medal in Tokyo. He was honored with the title “Artist of Palestine” in 1993 and received the Saif Kanaan Medal from the Palestinian National and Political Guidance Department. He has held ten solo exhibitions and is a founding member of the Palestinian Artists Association – Gaza Strip, as well as the Union of Palestinian Artists in the West Bank and Gaza.
