Abdulrahman Al-Ashmawi: A Saudi scholar and poet of Palestinian origin, whose mother is from the Ghamid tribe. He holds a Ph.D. in Rhetoric, Criticism, and the Methodology of Islamic Literature. Al-Ashmawi is regarded as one of the most prominent contemporary poets and is especially known for his Islamic-themed poetry.
He advanced through various academic positions at Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University, eventually becoming an Assistant Professor of Modern Criticism at the College of Arabic Language. He also lectured in the Department of Rhetoric, Criticism, and the Methodology of Islamic Literature until his retirement a few years ago.
Al-Ashmawi is a regular columnist in Saudi newspapers, frequently participates in poetry evenings and literary forums, and maintains a strong media presence through his radio and television programs.
