Mohammed Saleh Al-Kayali founded a photography studio in Jaffa in 1940 and studied cinema in Italy. After returning to Palestine, he attempted to make a film about the Palestinian cause in cooperation with the Arab Bureau of the League of Arab States in 1945, but was unsuccessful due to the events in Palestine and the 1948 Nakba. He left for Cairo, Egypt, where he worked in the field of documentary film production. Al-Kayali was able to produce a feature-length film in 1969 in Syria called "Three Operations in Palestine." As Palestinian film critic Bashar Ibrahim writes about this film, "It is a feature-length film for which he wrote the script in cooperation with Samir Nawar, and starring a group of well-known actors at the time, such as Khaled Taja and Hala Al-Shawarbi."
