Abbas Nimr ( Abu Abdullah : 1953 - 2021) is a Palestinian historian born in the city of Al-Bireh to a family from the village of Deir Ayoub, located west of the city of Jerusalem . He wrote the book “We Will Not Forget the Depopulated Villages of Jerusalem” and participated in giving lectures on the history of Palestinian cities and villages inside and outside the Arab world. He also participated in local and Arab scientific, historical, and heritage conferences in several cities such as Sharjah , Iraq , Syria , Egypt , Jordan , and Mauritania .
He won local and Arab awards and certificates of appreciation, and translated many research papers into English.
He died in Amman on November 29, 2021.
His biography
Abbas Nimr Alian served as Head of the Jerusalem Affairs Unit at the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs and Head of the Islamic Heritage Directorate for more than ten years, a permanent lecturer at the Jerusalem Conference held by An-Najah National University , and a part-time assistant professor at the University of Jordan between 1994-1996. He then moved to work at the Faculty of Educational Sciences of the United Nations Relief and Refugee Agency in Amman during the period (1996-2001).
He has been a writer and researcher for the Palestinian newspaper Al-Quds since 1994 in the religious column “Remember, if the remembrance benefits,” which is published weekly on Fridays and daily throughout the holy month of Ramadan .
He represented Palestine in several conferences outside the country, including:

He was a member of many unions and institutions, including:
Member of the Union of Arab Historians .
Member of the Arab Librarians Union.
Founding member of the Palestinian Encyclopedia.
Member of the Palestinian Folklorists.
Founding member of Al-Amari Charity Association.
Participating member in the Archaeology and Heritage Conference in Sharjah, UAE , 1999.
His writings and research
He has published many books and research papers in Al-Quds newspaper and several magazines such as Al-Israa magazine and Al-Minbar magazine , including:

The shrine of the Prophet Moses between yesterday and today. It has been translated into several languages.
