Ibrahim Abu Touq's love for the art of Arabic calligraphy was fueled in the early nineties, and the year 2002 was the starting point where he participated in several art exhibitions.

His artistic style

Ibrahim Abu Touq began studying the Arab artistic heritage of architecture, visual arts, music, and Arabic calligraphy. He dismantled the linear heritage and reassembled it. He also invented a new Arabic font called “Petra font,” which relies on purely geometric patterns to give the artwork harmony in its shapes and colors. The letters are embodied in the form of geometric building blocks according to exploratory measurements and backgrounds, which gives the text a voice that expresses its time and place, reflecting the maturity and adaptability in his experience with Arabic calligraphy and the philosophy of beauty in his works.
