Jamal Salsaa (1942-) is a Palestinian physician and writer. 

the biography

Born in 1942 in Beit Sahour
He graduated from Bethlehem High School in 1962-1963. He joined the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University , Cairo. He graduated as a doctor and surgeon in 1969. 
He served a one-year internship in Cairo hospitals, especially in the dermatology department. 
From 1970 until the end of 1972, he was appointed Director of Jericho Hospital and Director of its Health Department.
Since his childhood, he has practiced literary writing since 1957 in Al-Masaa newspaper, Al-Shaab newspaper and Al-Jihad newspaper . 
He returned to literary writing in 1975, and participated with others in establishing the Palestinian Writers Union in 1980.
He was arrested between 1989 and 1990 on charges of leading a tax riot in Beit Sahour.
He obtained a patent for psoriasis , eczema and other skin diseases in 1997.
He had a weekly column in Al Fajr newspaper from 1976 until the newspaper was closed in 1994, entitled “Hadith Al Jarh”.
He had a daily column in Al-Aqsa newspaper entitled “Hadith Al-Watan” which was published with the advent of the Palestinian National Authority in 1994 and continued for a year until the newspaper was closed.
He had a daily program, “Poetry and Music,” on the Voice of Palestine Radio, entitled “Prayers in the Sanctuary of the Homeland,” which ran for a full year, 1994-1995.
Member of the General Secretariat of the Palestinian Writers and Authors Union.
Founder of the Fatah Medical Services Union since 1984 in the West Bank.
Secretary of the Doctors Movement Office from 1998-2006.
Head of the Creative Cultural Forum Group.
Coordinator of the Forum of Pioneers of the Palestinian National Liberation Movement - Fatah Movement in Bethlehem Governorate.
Head of the Christian Affairs Department in Fatah's Foreign Relations.
Member of the Sixth Fatah Conference 2009.

Literary Awards

He won several literary awards in poetry and literary criticism, the most important of which are:
Rashid Hussein Award for Literary Criticism in 1991, where he won first place in the Arab world.
Tawfiq Zayyad Prize for Literary Criticism in 2000 at the level of Palestine.
He won the Best Arab Work award at the 8th Jordanian Festival for Arab Children's Song in 2002 for the lyrics of the poem "My Childhood".
He won the first prize for prison and detention literature in a poem at the level of Palestine in 2005.
