Umayyah Juha is considered the first cartoonist in Palestine and the Arab world to work in a daily political newspaper. She participated in many local exhibitions, including a caricature exhibition entitled “Returning” on September 27, 2005, in the city of Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip, to celebrate the Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip. She worked as a mathematics teacher for three years, then resigned in 1999 to devote herself to work. Al-Fanni, where she has since worked as a cartoonist for the Al-Quds daily newspaper since September 1999; She is a member of the Naji Al-Ali Fine Arts Society in Palestine. In addition to daily political newspapers, she works on news websites, in addition to heading the “Juha Toon” cartoon company.
During the year 1999, she won first place in the governorates of Palestine for her caricature in the Feminist Creativity Competition held by the Palestinian Ministry of Culture. She also won the Arab Journalism Award in the United Arab Emirates, and in 2010, she won the grand prize in the Naji Al-Ali International Caricature Competition organized by the Solidarity with the People Association.
