Palestinian academic Dr. Adnan Ayesh was elected as a member of the Arab Water Council for its fifth session (2019-2021).

The election of Dr. Ayesh, professor of geology and water resources at Al-Azhar University in Gaza, during the elections held by the General Assembly, in Cairo.

Twenty new members were elected to the Board of Governors from various Arab countries, including Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Sudan.

It is noteworthy that the Arab Water Council is an independent, non-profit, regional organization that operates at the regional and international levels.
