Farid Ahmed Ghannam has been the Director General of the General Budget Department at the Ministry of Finance since 2002, and Chairman of the European-Palestinian Subcommittee on Economics and Financial Issues since 2012. Previously, Mr. Ghannam worked as a lecturer at Birzeit University in courses on financial analysis for the public treasury, financial management, and administrative review and auditing (1996-2002), as Head of Accounting in the Main Budget Department at the Ministry of Finance (1996-2002), as a senior accountant at USAID - Louis Berger - Gaza (1995-1996), as a senior accountant at Daewoo - Libya (1985-1991), as an accountant at Artra Import and Export Company - Egypt (1984-1985), and as an accountant at Madhour Company in Egypt (1983-1984).

Mr. Ghanem is pursuing a PhD in Finance and Accounting from Cairo University, Egypt. He holds a Master's degree in Finance and Accounting from the Islamic University of Gaza and a Bachelor's degree in Commerce from Alexandria University, Egypt.
