Dr. Adnan Shehadeh is the Dean of the College of Humanities and Educational Sciences and the Director of the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning at Palestine Polytechnic University (PPU). He holds a Ph.D. in TESOL and Teacher Education from The Ohio State University (USA) and a Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics from the University of Salford (UK).
As the founder of PPU’s Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning, Dr. Shehadeh leads the university’s initiatives in academic development, teaching innovation, and pedagogical reform. He has played a key role in designing and implementing institutional plans to enhance teaching quality and student learning outcomes. His leadership extends to organizing and delivering numerous professional development workshops and training programs on topics such as syllabus design, innovative teaching methodologies, and assessment strategies in higher education.
Dr. Shehadeh has contributed to the formulation of policies and regulations related to teaching and learning at PPU through his active participation in institutional committees. Furthermore, he has led and supervised four international educational development projects on behalf of the university, further advancing the institution’s global engagement in higher education reform.
In the field of TESOL, Dr. Shehadeh has taught English language and linguistics courses to both major and non-major students. His professional experience encompasses teacher training, curriculum development, educational program evaluation, and supervision of graduate research.
His research interests lie in the areas of Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL), Second Language Acquisition (SLA), language assessment, and academic development in higher education.
