Tareq Sadeq, an Al-Shabaka Policy Member, hails from the village of Majdal Sadeq near Jaffa and presently resides in Ramallah. He holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Evry Val d’Essonne in France. During his time in France, Tareq actively participated in the Palestine solidarity movement and served as the head of the General Union of Palestinian Students (GUPS). Currently, Tareq serves as an assistant professor in the Department of Economics at Birzeit University. His research interests encompass a wide range of topics including monetary policy, macroeconomics, econometrics, labor economics, income inequalities, and entrepreneurship. Moreover, Tareq contributes as a researcher in Palestine’s Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM).
