Dr. Mohammad Al-Khatib is an Associate Professor in Urban Geography and Urban Planning. He earned his Ph.D. in Urban Planning from the Arab Republic of Egypt in 2009, a Master's degree in Urban and Regional Planning in 2004, and a Bachelor's degree in Geography and Urban Studies in 2000. He has been a dedicated faculty member in the Department of Geography and Urban Studies at the College of Arts since October 1, 2004.
Dr. Al-Khatib has held several administrative positions, including Academic Assistant to the Dean of the College of Arts for three years. He also served as the Head of the Department of Geography and Urban Studies for three terms. He has made significant contributions to various scientific conferences, seminars, and local community development projects.
His scientific interests primarily focus on urban studies, including urbanization, urban development, urban dominance, visual pollution in cities, and related topics. He is also keenly interested in urban development planning and urban housing. Dr. Al-Khatib has published several scientific research papers and has served as a reviewer for various peer-reviewed academic journals, including the Journal of Al-Aqsa University in Gaza and the Journal of Planning and Development at the University of Baghdad.
Additionally, he has supervised numerous master's theses within the Master's program in Geography and Regional Planning. He has also worked as an external examiner in master's programs related to geography, geographic information systems (GIS), and urban and regional planning in Palestine.
