Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed Abu Amr is an Assistant Professor in Islamic Archaeology at the Institute of Archaeology at the University of Jerusalem since 2000. He holds a Ph.D. in Islamic Archaeology from the University of Granada, Spain, with a dissertation on "Decorative Arts in the Alhambra Palaces." Abu Amr served as the director of the institute from 2009 to 2015. He conducts archaeological research and excavations in the sites of Beit Basa (Beit Sahour) and Beit 'Aniya (Al-Eizariya). He held the position of Director of the "Archaeology and Cultural Heritage Project in the Mediterranean Basin, Archeomed" from 2011 to 2015 and led a research group in the EuroMed project "The Byzantine Period and Early Islamic Period" from 2006 to 2007, among many other participations and projects. Abu Amr has published numerous research papers in the field of archaeology.
