Mohammad Abu Hammam: A British engineer of Palestinian origin from the city of Acre (Akko). He sought refuge in Beirut, where he founded his first company in 1963. The company specialized in wired communications for telephone exchanges and wireless transmission equipment of various types, including systems for airlines, the police, the Ministry of Transport, and the military. The company later expanded its activities to manufacture a wide range of electronic devices, laying a strong foundation for his professional life in Lebanon.
After the Israeli invasion, he moved to London, where he started anew and achieved success, eventually becoming the owner of M.E.W.W, an engineering company specializing in engineering design and project production in Britain. In the field of electronics, the company focuses on emergency lighting systems, producing equipment required for hospitals, government buildings, offices, administrative bodies, and companies.
M.E.W.W also participated in the construction of the Channel Tunnel project linking Britain and France, and is considered one of the largest engineering companies in Europe.
