Ekrem Akurgal ( March 30, 1911 – November 1 , 2002 ) is one of the most prominent archaeologists in the world. He was born in the Palestinian city of Tulkarm,  and is of Turkish origin. 

His life
Professor Ikram Akurgal was born in the city of Tulkarm in the West Bank on March 30 , 1911. 

His education

Ikram Akurgal graduated from the University of Berlin , Germany with a degree in “Historical and Geographical Studies . ” 

His death

Akurgal died in Izmir , Turkey, on November 1, 2002.
