Dima Mazen Khalil Al-Qatto , ( September 12, 1977 – ) is a Palestinian-American pharmacologist , born in the Palestinian city of Tulkarm , and holds both Palestinian and American citizenship. She is considered one of the most prominent scientists in the field of pharmacology and epidemiology , and is a fellow of the US National Academy of Medicine , and has won several scientific awards.
Her biography
Dima Mazen Khalil Al-Qatto was born in the Palestinian city of Tulkarm on September 12, 1977 , and in 1980 she moved to the United States of America , and she is the sister of the scientist Dania Al-Qatto and the scientist Mazna Al-Qatto.
In the United States of America, Dima joined the College of Pharmacy at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1997 , from which she graduated in 2001 with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree . In 2003, she joined the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in Maryland, from which she obtained a Master's degree in Public Health in 2005. She then obtained a PhD in Public Health and Pharmacoepidemiology from the College of Public Health at the University of Illinois at Chicago .
From 2012 to 2020, she served as an associate professor at the College of Pharmacy at the University of Illinois at Chicago , and since 2020 , she has been an associate professor of pharmacoepidemiology at the University of Southern California , and is also the director of the Drug and Public Health Program at the College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the same university. She is also a member of several scientific and research institutes and centers at the university.
Since 2020, she has served on both the Research Advisory Board of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists and the Editorial Board of the Journal of the American Pharmacists Association .
