Abdul Razzaq Muhammad Mustafa Habayeb ( October 10, 1932 - ) is a Palestinian-American scientist and professor of electronic engineering . He was born in the Palestinian city of Tulkarm . He has patents and has won several awards. He worked for thirty consecutive years as Director of Guidance and Control at the Naval Air Systems Command  in the US Navy . 

His upbringing and education

Abdul Razzaq Muhammad Mustafa Habayeb was born in the city of Tulkarm in Palestine on October 10, 1932. He completed his primary, preparatory and secondary education in the schools of his city, Tulkarm , and continued his education at the Khadouri Institute in the city (later a university), from which he graduated in 1953 with a "Diploma in Agriculture and Education". 

He moved to the United States of America in 1953 , and in 1956 he obtained a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Kansas State University , then in 1959 he obtained a master's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Kansas , and then he obtained a doctorate in electrical engineering in 1963 from the University of Kansas . 

His professional life

In 1956 and 1957 he worked as a communications network design engineer at  Radio in Kansas City, Missouri , and from 1959 to 1963 he worked as a lecturer and teacher of electrical engineering at the University of Kansas in Lawrence , Kansas .

In 1960 he worked as a senior electronic design engineer at Honeywell , one of the largest American companies in the field of complex electronic technologies such as aviation and aerospace technologies, and in 1962 he worked as a senior analysis engineer at Allis Chalmers  Manufacturing and Equipment Company. 

From 1963 to 1966 he worked as a senior scientist at the International Telephone and Telegraph Company (ITT) laboratories in Fort Wayne, Indiana , USA , and from 1964 to 1966 he worked as an assistant professor at Purdue University . 

From 1966 to 1968 he was chief scientist at the Aviation Radio Corporation in Annapolis  Maryland , and from 1968 to 1999 he served in Washington as director of guidance and control at the Naval Air Systems Command of the United States Navy , a highly sensitive military scientific position. 

From 1981 to 1989 he was an assistant professor at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. , and from 1981 to 1982 he was the head of the Department of Electrical Engineering at Yarmouk University in Jordan. 

From 1984 to 1986 he served as Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Yarmouk University in Jordan, and from 1993 to 1994 he served as Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Virginia Tech . He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers International and the Sigma Xi Honor Society . 

His writings

He has many scientific researches and articles published in specialized scientific journals. In 1987 , he published the book “Systems Effectiveness . ” 

Patents

Habayeb has eight patents in the field of electronic engineering resulting from his extensive research conducted throughout his professional and practical life. 

His visit to Palestine and a book about it

In October 2019, Habayeb visited his country , Palestine . In his city of Tulkarm, Palestine Technical University “Khadouri” honored him as one of its alumni and in appreciation of his contributions. The university also organized a symposium in his honor entitled “Success Story.” 

In the city of Ramallah, the Mahmoud Darwish Museum hosted him in a special ceremony that took place during the launch of a book about his biography entitled “Abdul Razzaq Habayeb: A Biography and the Fulfillment of a Dream,” written by “Najwa Nazim Abdul Hadi.” The official Palestinian television broadcast the ceremony live. 

his personal life

Habayeb married Randa Abu Ghazaleh on July 24, 1972 , and had four children: Tariq, Dunya, Samah, and Jumana.

He was selected by the Marquis Who's Who Foundation as one of the "Who's Who in Finance and Business" encyclopedia's "List of Distinguished Figures in Finance and Business" for the year 2006-2007 .
His biography was selected and published for many years in the book American Men and Women of Science  a reference work that includes biographies of leading scientists in the United States and Canada .
