Yacoub Hanna (Hebrew: יעקוב חנא), (born in Ramah, August
26, 1980) is a biologist born into a Palestinian Christian Arab family in the
1948s. He works in the Stem Cell Research Center at the Weizmann Institute of
Science in Rehovot after returning from a postdoctoral research period at the
Foundation. The Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Massachusetts, in the
United States, worked on pioneering techniques to reprogram adult cells and
turn them into multi-target stem cells to treat diseases, especially diseases
of the immune system such as diabetes and m.s.
Jacob Yacoub is considered one of
the most prominent young researchers in the world in this field, and he is
among the prominent researchers at the Weizmann Institute and Harvard and
Berkeley Universities.
