Ibrahim Al-Shaer is the Palestinian Minister of Social Development in the Palestinian National Accord Government from December 14, 2015 until April 14, 2019. Al-Shaer was born in a houseLahm, born in 1963, is a researcher and academic with 25 years of experience in the field of university administration and higher education. The poet obtained a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and a Diploma in Education in 1986 from Bethlehem University. He then received a scholarship from the British Council in 1989 to study a Master’s in Linguistics at Lancaster University in Britain.
He also received a scholarship to obtain a doctorate in linguistics. Applied Science from the University of Reading, UK. The poet holds the rank of professor in linguistics, where his main research interests focus on the field of linguistics, e-learning, and developing creativity and innovation skills. He supervised many scientific theses in Palestinian universities, and has about 20 scientific research papers published in Arabic and English in international, regional, and local peer-reviewed journals.
