Ramadan Abdullah Abdelhadi was a Palestinian academic from the village of Kawkaba in the Gaza Governorate. He obtained both his Master’s and PhD degrees in Arabic Language and Rhetoric from Azerbaijan.
He later moved to the United Arab Emirates, where he initially worked at the Ministry of Defense. After earning his doctorate, he joined the Palestinian Consulate in Dubai as a Cultural Advisor, and after several years, he became Deputy Palestinian Consul.
Dr. Ramadan authored numerous books dedicated to teaching the Arabic language to children, Arabic calligraphy in its various styles and forms, and stories of the Prophets (peace be upon them). He also served as a lecturer at the Imam Malik University, where he taught Arabic calligraphy and offered specialized lessons in the art. In addition to his scholarly work, he possessed notable talent in drawing and visual arts.
He designed the logo of Al Arabiya, and his calligraphic style was adopted as one of the modern Arabic scripts. Several of his books on Arabic calligraphy (in its various forms) continue to be taught in the State of Kuwait to this day.
Dr. Ramadan Abdelhadi passed away on Wednesday, 15 September 2010, leaving behind a lasting educational and cultural legacy.
