Muhammad Anis Ahmad al-Qaq (born June 1, 1947 in Silwan ) is a Palestinian diplomat and dentist . He was the Palestinian ambassador to Switzerland between 2003 and 2009 and a member of the Palestinian National Council .
His life
Al-Qaq was born in Silwan , south of Jerusalem , in 1947, during the British Mandate of Palestine . He received his school education there and earned a Bachelor's degree in Dentistry from the University of Baghdad in 1971. He later specialized in oral surgery at Buckinghamshire New University in the United Kingdom between 1982 and 1984.
He was appointed President of the Palestinian-Swedish Friendship Association and Secretary-General of the Health Services Council in 1989. He was also Deputy Assistant Minister of Planning and International Cooperation of Palestine in 1996 and Undersecretary of the Ministry.
At the end of 2003, he was appointed Chairman of the Palestinian General Commission to Switzerland .
His personal life
In 1996, he married Dutch politician Sigrid Kaag , who became Minister of Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation in 2018.
