Abdullah Salim Youssef Abu Zaid , known as Abdullah Kamil (Abu Jihad; born on January 20, 1967 in Zububa ), is a Palestinian politician and military man , holding the position of Governor of Salfit Governorate since September 16, 2019.

Early life and education

Abdullah Salim Youssef Abu Zaid was born in the town of Zabuba , north of Jenin Governorate , to a family from the town of Qabatiya , south of Jenin . He was educated in Qabatiya schools until he was arrested by the Israeli occupation forces when he was fifteen years old. After his liberation from captivity, he completed his university studies until he obtained a doctorate in constitutional law . 

Positions

Abdullah Kamil held several positions, including director of the Palestinian General Intelligence Directorate in the governorates of Salfit , Nablus , and Tulkarm, until Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas appointed him in November 2013 to assume the position of governor of Qalqilya Governorate, and then, in a short period, he was appointed He assumed the duties of governor of Tulkarm Governorate, but he was relieved of that at the end of 2014 at the suggestion of the Prime Minister of the State of Palestine, Rami Hamdallah, where he was transferred and appointed as governor in the Palestinian presidential office . 
On December 4, 2016 , Kamil won the Fatah Revolutionary Council elections , which were held during the Seventh Conference of the Fatah Movement, and became a member of it. 
On September 16, 2019, Abdullah Kamil assumed his duties as governor of Salfit Governorate , succeeding Major General Ibrahim Al-Balawi .
