Yahya
Ibrahim Salman Rabah, (Abu Muhammad; 1943 - February 2, 2023) was a Palestinian
politician, diplomat, writer and media personality, and a leader in the Fatah
movement.

biography
Yahya
Ibrahim Salman Rabah was born in 1943 in the northern village of Al-Sawafir in
Al-Majdal district, and in 1948 he was displaced with his family to the Deir
Al-Balah camp in the Gaza Strip. In 1966 he joined the Fatah movement, and
graduated in 1968 from the Faculty of Administration and Economics at Ain Shams
University in Egypt.
He
held several positions and positions. He was a political commissioner, director
general of broadcasts in the Palestine Liberation Organization, and ambassador
of Palestine to Yemen from 1990 to 2003. In 2010, he assumed the position of
commissioner of information and intellectual mobilization for the Fatah
movement. He was also a member of the Revolutionary Council of the Fatah
movement, and a member of the Commission. The supreme leadership of the Fatah
movement in the Gaza Strip, a member of the Palestinian National Council, and a
governor in the Palestinian presidential office.

Rabah passed away in the Palestine Medical Complex in Ramallah on the evening
of Thursday, February 2, 2023. Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas mourned him,
as did the Fatah movement, whose obituary statement stated, "Palestine has
lost a national and intellectual stature that was characterized by continuous
giving," and the Palestinian Ministry of Culture mourned him. In the words
of its minister, Atef Abu Seif, saying, "Palestinian culture has lost
today one of its leaders who contributed to the establishment of national
awareness, through his narrative and prose writings, his intellectual and
political articles, and his mobilization lectures." He was also mourned by
the President of the Palestinian National Council, Ruhi Fattouh, and others.

Honors and awards
In September 2013, the General
Union of Palestinian Writers and Writers, the Palestinian Ministry of
Information, and the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate honored him "in
appreciation of his biography and career."
In August 2017, he won the
"Arab Broadcasting Personality of the Year" award for the year 2017
from the League of Arab States and the Council of Arab Ministers of
Information.
On March 13, 2019, the Palestinian
President decorated him with the Palestinian Culture, Science and Art Medal of
Creativity, "in appreciation of his pioneering role and career in the
fields of media and radio, as one of the pillars of Palestinian media action,
and in appreciation of his creative role in the novel and essay, in support of
the Palestinian revolution."
