Hashem Mahameed (Hebrew: האשם מחאמיד), (February 18, 1945 - April 3, 2018) was a Palestinian politician and leader, who held the positions of mayor of Umm al-Fahm and a deputy in the Israeli Knesset for the Democratic Front for Peace and Equality. He holds a first and second degree in educational counseling, and a first degree in English from Tel Aviv University. He worked in educational counseling and was the deputy principal of the secondary school in Umm al-Fahm.
He served as a Knesset member from January 10, 1990 until February 17, 2003 for the Democratic Front for Peace and Equality (12-13 session). And in the 14th session of the National Democratic Assembly. And in the 15th round for the United Arab List, from which he withdrew in December 2002. He established the National Progressive Alliance list, through which he ran for the 16th Knesset, but at that time he obtained 21,000 votes, which did not qualify him to pass the threshold.

In one of his political stances during the Second Gulf War, Hashem Mahamid expressed his admiration for Saddam Hussein, and said that by invading Kuwait, he restored its prestige to the Arab and Islamic nation.
In 1992, during his visit to Gaza, Hashem Mahameed demanded that the Palestinian people take all means to oppose the occupation and injustice, and that the stone and the uprising are not enough.
Hashem Mahamid expressed his support for the actions of Hezbollah, which he described as a national liberation movement of the first order, describing its fighters as soldiers of freedom, and describing the land of Lebanon as the cemetery of the occupation soldiers.
