Eugenio Tuma Zedan is a political Chilean from a Palestinian origin. Senator representing the Party for Democracy in the IX Region of Araucanía during the 2010-2018 period.
He was born in Temuco on 29 July of 1945. He is the son of Juan Tuma Masso and Mary Zedán Bulos. He is married, with Zeidan Samia, and father of four children.
He completed his education at the Colegio La Salle de Temuco and the Captain Avalos Aviation School. Later, he entered the School of Economics of the University of Chile in Santiago where the degree of Bachelor of Economics and Business Administration degree with a major in Business Administration obtained. Besides the title of Accountant.
Professionally, he began in 1971 , in CORFO (CORFO) as head of the Department of Calculation and Evaluation of the Metalworking Industry. The following year, he became head of the Department of Organization and Methods Textile Committee. Subsequently, he was appointed executive secretary of the Sectorial Committee of Leather and Footwear.
Between 1985 and 1986 , as a member of the College of Engineers Region IX he assumed the vice presidency. In 1990, he was elected Chairman of the Board of Sanitary Services Company of Araucania SA (ESSAR), where he remained until 1993. In parallel, he was founder, trainer, organizer and administrator distributors and supermarkets in the IX Region and especially in the Temuco.
