Mrs. Jihad Awad was born in the city of Tulkarm in 1938. She studied at Al-Adawiya School and then completed her secondary education in Cairo. She got married in 1954, and she has one son and three daughters.
Her intellectual, cultural and social formation was influenced by her husband’s mother, Mrs. La’iqa Omar Al-Masri, the Vice President of the Arab Women’s Union in Nablus. Through her, she loved and believed in social work. La’iqa was a role model for Mrs. Jihad, and Jihad Al-Masri followed in the footsteps of that role model who was always dedicated to serving the community and volunteer work.
Jihad Al-Masri was elected as a member of the administrative body in 1988, and assumed the position of treasurer, and her assignment to the same administrative position was renewed in the subsequent elections.
Mrs. Jihad Al-Masri is a member of more than one association in the city of Nablus. In addition to her membership in the Arab Women’s Union Association in Nablus, she is also a founding member of the Al-Manhal Cultural Center, the Red Crescent, Child Welfare, and the Friends of the Patient Charitable Association.
