Born in Jaffa in 1938.
He holds a master's degree in political science from the American University of Beirut.
He worked as an advisor at the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He
headed the political department of the Palestine Liberation Organization.
He was the first representative of the Palestine Liberation Organization in Egypt.
He worked as a political advisor to the late President Yasser Arafat. He
represented Palestine at the United Nations and headed the first Palestinian delegation to the UN Security Council 
. He worked as director of the Arab League office in London. He was
a member of the Palestinian National and Central Councils and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Institute for Palestine Studies.
He passed away on Wednesday evening, 12/2/2020, in the Republic of Lebanon.
