Dr. Yousef Awad Yousef Al-Sharafi (born April 15 , 1963 in Jabalia Camp , Gaza ) is a member of the Palestinian Legislative Council , and head of the Preaching and Guidance Department in the Association of Palestinian Scholars . He is married and has 5 sons and 5 daughters. He received the highest number of votes in the recent 2006 Palestinian legislative elections (37,106 votes) in the North Gaza Governorate.
Study and education
He holds a PhD in Hadith and its Sciences from the University of the Holy Quran and Islamic Sciences in Sudan with a grade of “Excellent”.
Master's degree in Hadith and its sciences from the University of Jordan in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan .
Bachelor of Fundamentals of Religion from the Faculty of Fundamentals of Religion at the Islamic University of Gaza .
He has many courses in computer and teaching skills.

Member of the Council of the Association of Palestinian Scholars in the Gaza Strip .
Vice President of the International Jerusalem Foundation in the Gaza Strip.
Vice-Chairman of the Central Reform Committee since its establishment until the 2006 legislative elections and a member of it.

Member of the Education and Social Affairs Committee and the Economic Committee in the Legislative Council.

He worked as a notary public for several years.
He worked as a teacher in scientific institutes in Yemen for two years (1987 and 1988).
He worked as a lecturer and assistant professor at the Faculty of Fundamentals of Religion at the Islamic University of Gaza* for a long period (from 1992 until the end of 2005).
He discussed nearly ten scientific researches to obtain a master’s degree at the Faculty of Fundamentals of Religion at the Islamic University of Gaza.
Palestinian reconciliation
In April 2014, Yousef Al-Sharafi called for broadcasting the events of the Palestinian reconciliation meetings between the Fatah and Hamas movements live, so that the Palestinian people can judge them themselves and reveal the truth about the party obstructing the efforts to end the division. He pointed out that the government recently released some detainees with criminal cases in order to prepare the atmosphere for a real reconciliation, while the security services of the Authority in the West Bank are increasingly pursuing members of Hamas and the resistance factions.
