Imad Khalidi, born in Jerusalem, embarked on a journey marked by academic achievements and professional success. After graduating from Jean Batiste de La Salle College and Birzeit College with an Associate degree in chemistry, he ventured to France where he resided from 1974 to 1990. During his time in France, Imad pursued further education by attending two full-time management courses at INSEAD in Fontainebleau.
In 1990, Imad relocated to Camden, Maine, and later to Portland, Maine, in 1993. He is married and has eight children, reflecting his dedication to both family and career. Imad's linguistic abilities are impressive, as he is proficient in five languages.
Imad Khalidi is widely recognized as a leading authority in the car rental industry. His illustrious career began in 1978 in the travel industry, where he assumed various leadership roles. Currently serving as the CEO and President, Imad has steered Auto Europe from offering "car rental services" to becoming a prominent leader in the European car rental market.
Throughout his career, Imad's contributions and achievements have garnered accolades from the travel trade industry. In 2000, he received the prestigious Travel Industry Achievement Award, and in 1999 and 2000, he was honored in the Winner's Circle. Imad was named Executive of the Year by Travel Trade in 1998 and was recognized as Humanitarian of the Year in 2005 for his invaluable assistance to travel agents in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Imad Khalidi's dedication, expertise, and philanthropic endeavors continue to leave a lasting impact on the travel industry.
