Belal Shobaki is a prominent figure in Palestinian academia, serving as the Head of the Department of Political Science at Hebron University. Additionally, he holds a position as a Policy Member at the Palestinian Policy Network. Belal is recognized for his role as the founder and coordinator of the Double Master’s degree program in Public and Cultural Diplomacy at Hebron University in collaboration with the University of Siena, Italy. His research interests span various topics including Political Islam, identity, democratization, and the Palestinian issue. Moreover, Belal leads the Hebron University team in a three-year project titled "Strengthening of National Research Capacity on Policy, Conflict Resolution, and Reconciliation," which is funded by the Erasmus+ program of the European Union. Prior to his current position, Belal has taught at An-Najah National University, Palestine, and at IIUM, Malaysia.
