Nafeh Al-Aboushi is a Palestinian (born in 1877 in Jenin , Palestine - died in 1929 in Palestine ).
His life
He was one of Palestine's most prominent national figures at the beginning of the twentieth century, as he was a member of the first Palestinian Arab Conference in 1919. He was elected as a representative of the city of Jenin with Haidar Abdel Hadi to attend the Arab Conference, which sent a telegram to the General Peace Conference against making Palestine a national homeland for the Jews.
He also attended the Seventh Arab-Palestinian Conference held in Jerusalem between August 20 and 27, 1928.
The poet Burhan al-Din al-Aboushi also referred to the role of Nafi’ al-Aboushi in the play “Watan of the Martyr” published in 1947, which is to give sound opinions. This is done by not paying attention to distraction with words, but rather by following a clear path. Its foundation is piety and reliance on strength, which is symbolized by the sword:
O free people, the time has passed | | Arab men play with words |
So establish laws for people of piety | | And abandon words and stick to resolve |
He was also a member of the Jenin municipality during the period of Ottoman rule in the city.
And from what the late Muhammad Azza Darwaza mentioned in his memoirs regarding the first Palestinian conference , about Nafi’ Al-Aboushi, “Among those we got to know and bond with at the conference was Nafi’ Al-Aboushi, and he had a leadership appearance and was one of the useful elements in the conference. Our friendship continued and we cooperated with him in many positions and conferences, and we continued to He continued to do so until God took his death.”
Conferences in which he participated
-The First Palestinian Conference held in 1919.
-The Fourth Palestinian Conference, held in 1921.
-Member of the advisory committee for establishing the Electoral Council in 1921.

-The Seventh Arab-Palestinian Conference, held in 1928.

His death
He died in 1929, when a great funeral was held for him, attended by the great Palestinian poet Ibrahim Tuqan , who eulogized him at that time with poetic verses that are still written on his grave to this day in the eastern Jenin cemetery.
His lament
My longing for “Nafi’” if it would benefit him | | For my longing.. and far from it, there is no benefit in death |
They carried him to a grave | | He is feared by his followers and followers |
His homelands contained him in their belly, so he became | | As if it were a heart and they were ribs |
O homeland, in whose wealth its masters are absent | | If those who sold you were ashamed, they would not have sold |
