From its headquarters in the UAE, the Arab Parliament for Children held its third session, and chose its presidential office, in which girls controlled the position of president and his two deputies.
Members of the Arab Parliament for Children elected the Kuwaiti girl, Janan Jaber Al-Sharif, to the position of president in the second round, after she received the highest votes among eight competitors, during electronic voting, within the work of the third session at the headquarters of the Consultative Council of the Emirate of Sharjah in the UAE.
Hala Jahleel from Palestine won the position of first vice-president of the Arab Children’s Parliament, and Hebat Allah Al-Alami from Morocco won the position of second vice-president. In the same session, the Children’s Rights Committee and the Activities and Events Committee were elected.
The headquarters of the Arab Parliament for Children was opened in the Emirate of Sharjah in April 2019, where it held its first session, while it held its second session in 2021, and elected its offices and committees, with the participation of dozens of members from Arab countries.
The Arab Parliament for Children is responsible for submitting a periodic report on its activities to the General Secretariat of the League (Social Affairs Sector - Department of Women, Family and Childhood), and then presenting it to the Economic and Social Council, in accordance with its statute.
In April 2019, Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, opened the headquarters of the Arab Children’s Parliament in Sharjah, and held its first session at the headquarters of the Consultative Council of the Emirate of Sharjah, with the participation of 14 Arab countries that nominated 4 of their children to be their representatives under the dome of Parliament.
