Информация
Insaf Abu Jarad, 39, a Palestinian refugee who used to live in the Daraa Palestinian refugee camp (southern Syria). She came to the Gaza Strip after the intensification of the Syrian crisis in 2011, to live with her family in her grandfather's house in the north of the Strip.
Distinctive imprint
Insaf did not find a job after her arrival in the Gaza Strip. Their living conditions are deplorable, so she decided to defy circumstances and work in a profession that is predominantly male in a conservative society that rejects women working in men’s professions. She was able to make a distinguished mark in the carpentry profession, and she headed towards making wooden toys for children to secure a source of income for her and her family.
Insaf says in her interview with Al-Jazeera Net, "With the beginning of the crisis in Syria, we decided to leave it in order to preserve our lives, and the only place where we had relatives was the Gaza Strip. We thought that the conditions would be better than Syria, but it is not much different."
