The Palestinian student, Majdal Mezher, obtained a double master's degree in medical biotechnology and business administration, with distinction, from the University of Wark in the United Kingdom.

Mezher's master's thesis dealt with the reasons for the global need for new antibiotics: the current situation and future prospects, and included recommendations for new health, industrial and commercial policies at the world level, governments, international organizations, universities and individuals.

The researcher recommended the establishment of a global council to preserve the efficiency of antibiotics.
