The Sheikh’s journey at the Islamic University of Gaza

The Sheikh returned to the Gaza Strip after obtaining a doctorate in the Noble Hadith and its sciences from Umm Al-Qura University in the sisterly state of Saudi Arabia. His Eminence became Dean of the Faculty of Fundamentals of Religion at the Islamic University and soon became President of the Islamic University. The Sheikh worked to bring Arab recognition to the Islamic University, which the Zionist occupation refused to recognize. So His Eminence left for the Arab Republic of Egypt to hold meetings with his professors and sheikhs who taught him in graduate studies in Mecca. These meetings succeeded in the sheikhdom of Al-Azhar University in Cairo, and the meetings with Egyptian intelligence led to the visit of the head of Egyptian intelligence to Gaza. The sheikh hosted him in his home, and this resulted in the recognition of the university by the Arab Republic of Egypt. Islamic Affairs in Gaza. The Sheikh opened the College of Nursing at the Islamic University in 1992 after postponing its opening more than once due to the occupation ban, which led to his arrest by the Zionist enemy, who absolutely rejected the existence of the college. Contributing to the establishment of the Association of Palestinian Scholars

The scholars met in the Gaza Strip in 1991 to form the nucleus from which the Association of Palestinian Scholars was founded, headed by Sheikh Dr. Salem Ahmed Salama, President of the Islamic University at the time. One of the outcomes of this meeting was the establishment of a body of scholars called the Association of Palestine Scholars . Since it was necessary for the Association of Palestine Scholars to have a presence on all of Palestinian land, it was decided to announce the association starting from the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque , the capital of Palestine, in the month of Muharram in the year 1412 AH, corresponding to July 1992 AD, and Sheikh Hamid Suleiman Al-Bitawi - may God have mercy on him - headed the association in the northern governorates, and Sheikh Dr. Salem Ahmed Salama, President of the Association in the Southern Governorates. The Association opened its headquarters in Gaza temporarily until the main headquarters is opened in Al-Quds Al-Sharif, God willing, liberated from the filth of the Zionist occupation.

The Zionist occupation targeted the Association of Palestinian Scholars by arresting its founder and closing its headquarters in Gaza and the West Bank. The Zionist enemy also deported the heads of the Association in the West Bank and Gaza, Sheikh Dr. Salem Salama, President of the League in the Southern Governorates, Sheikh Hamid Al-Bitawi, President of the League in the Northern Governorates, and a group of members of the League’s General Assembly, along with dozens and dozens of leaders of the Palestinian people, went to southern Lebanon in a desperate attempt to eliminate the League in its infancy or limit its influence, but they failed in doing so. .
